I have been very fortunate to have worked in a number of different industries at various different levels. Having started out as an Apprentice Coachbuilder, then playing rugby for three years in Australia. Upon my return to New Zealand, I entered the hospitality industry where I managed to work my way through to hotel management.

Following on from there I moved in to the marketing of the hotel chain to sporting and cultural organisations.

This led me to becoming The CEO of a regional sporting organisation. I then moved to a National Gaming Trust where I spent a further 8 years. Looking for a fresh challenge, I started my own small business in the construction industry, part of that was contact management of an asbestos removal company.

I have always been heavily involved in sport having played rugby, cricket and golf I have managed both national and international teams. I am currently still involved managing at national level

My partner and I spend a lot of time tramping, walking and biking

I believe the philosophy that “Those who work hard in the bad times are the first to prosper in the good times”

I have an extensive background in marketing working in the graphic design and print management field for over 10 years.  Having originally worked in my hometown of Christchurch, I relocated to Wellington in 1998.  Whilst there I worked as an Account Director for various large multi-national corporates in the Graphic Design and print fields, allowing me to refine my client and project management skills.

Starting a family in 2002, along with a shift to the Waikato the same year, I took time away from Corporate life for a number of years.  Wanting to embark on getting back into the workforce, yet still being able to run a busy family life, my husband and I purchased Portable Rooms, a cabin hire business in 2009.  Having successfully managed and grown this business for over 11 years, I felt the opportunity to grow my own personal development, and persue work with other owners and managers of a small businesses, was a natural progression for me.  Owning a business is not without it’s challenges, and I feel having had the opportunity to do this has been both personally  and professionally rewarding.  Our motto has always been ‘To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart’.

My husband and I reside in Cambridge, and continue to thrive with our four kids on a lifestyle block.  As a family we enjoy travel, gardening and constant home improvements.
